Creative options for portrait photography with the GFX system
Portrait photographers who use GFX system cameras can now choose between the GF 110mm/F2 R WR if they prefer a narrower angle of view or the GF 80mm/F1.7 if they prefer a slightly wider angle of view. Choosing a wider shot will give many photographers more creative options. The strength is the bokeh produced by the very wide aperture of the GF80mm/F1.7 lens, which provides incredible aesthetic quality.

Perfect bokeh and precise aperture control
It is optically designed to minimize aberrations and ensure edge-to-edge image sharpness. The aperture ring allows you to control the aperture manually or from the camera body. A lock is provided in the A (Auto) and C (Command) positions to prevent accidental repositioning when handling the lens.
Advanced optics for maximum sharpness and aberration elimination
Optically, the lens uses a pair of low-dispersion ED elements and one aspherical element (12 elements in 9 groups) to correct various aberrations and help achieve high sharpness and clarity. The surface of the aspherical lens is made by high-precision glass forming technology with a tolerance of 1/100,000 millimeter. This is five times more accurate than conventional lens shaping and reduces the typical problem caused by the use of aspherical lenses, so-called. "onion rings", which manifests itself in blurred light parts of the image.

Powerful and compact lens for accurate and fast focusing
The GF 80mm/F1.7 is equipped with a powerful DC motor to drive the six-element focusing group and to ensure accurate and reliable autofocusing even when shooting at a fully open F1.7 aperture. PIt also supports Face/Eye AF which allows precise focusing on the subject's face or eye even when they are moving in the frame. Its compact dimensions, measuring only 99.2 mm in length and weighing just 795 g, make it an ideal companion in the studio, but also outdoors. In addition, it is sealed against dust and moisture in ten places and the front member is coated with a fluorine layer that repels dirt.
