Simply insert the battery and attach it to the desired location. The life of the 9V 6LF22 battery is approximately 1 to 3 years. The detector operates on the principle of dispersed light and is equipped with a battery status indicator and a test button. When smoke is detected, an optical and an audible alarm is triggered.
