The Eaton UPS 3P Ellipse 1700 USB IEC uninterruptible power supply in a tower design protects sensitive electronics in homes and offices. This off-line UPS operates with an apparent power of 1700VA and a real power of 1040W. It primarily stabilises the power supply and bridges short-term outages. With 97% efficiency at full load, it reduces its own energy consumption. Its operating noise does not exceed 25dB, which means it can be deployed in quiet environments. The UPS powers connected devices via eight output sockets, which it divides between critical and less important appliances. In addition, an integrated USB port enables you to manage or charge mobile devices. The backup time at full load is 1 minute.

Performance and efficiency

The uninterruptible power supply uses off-line topology with an apparent power of 1700VA and a real load of up to 1040W. The input voltage is nominally 230V, but the user can set it to 220V or 240V to adapt to local grid conditions. High efficiency of 97% at full load ensures low operating consumption and less heat generation. The standard input voltage range is 184V to 264V, which can be extended to 161V to 284V for operation in unstable networks. It automatically detects the input frequency in the range of 46Hz to 70Hz.

Battery and protection

The unit contains two maintenance-free lead-acid batteries, each with 12V and 9Ah parameters. The UPS design allows for easy user replacement, which reduces service costs. Deep-discharge protection actively prevents irreversible damage to the batteries during long periods of battery operation. The integrated cold start function starts the UPS and powers appliances directly from the battery, even without mains voltage. Surge protection protects connected electronics from voltage spikes.

Management and software

For PC communication, it offers a USB port that communicates using the HID protocol for automatic integration with common operating systems. The included Eaton UPS Companion software ensures a safe system shutdown during a prolonged power outage. The application also monitors energy consumption and lets you configure the UPS settings. It uses an IEC C14 input connector to connect to the mains. The output section offers a total of eight sockets. It also includes a USB port for charging mobile devices.
