CMOS, which stands for "Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor", is a type of sensor technology used in many of today's digital cameras and camcorders. CMOS sensors are popular for their lower power requirements and their ability to integrate additional features directly onto the chip, making them very efficient for modern cameras.
