The D-Link DGS-1510 is a range of small and medium-sized switches that require, for example, L3 static routing, virtual stacking and physical stacking. The stack is physically stacked with 10-gigabit SFP+ connectors to connect to the main network and create a stack. You can even connect up to 6 units to get 288 gigabit ports in a single stack that will easily configure, manage, and troubleshoot any problems.
The DGS-1510 Series features advanced features such as Virtual Stacking and Static Routing. Virtual stacking reduces the number of IP addresses needed to configure up to 32 network devices that will be displayed as one unit with one IP address. This greatly simplifies network management. With static routing, IP routes are manually entered into a routing table that allows communication between different user groups in different VLAN segments. The switch is able to directly manage routing between VLANs so the network runs faster and more efficiently. Because the switch can completely manage internal routing, the network router can only be assigned to external routing.
The switch features a full set of L2 features including IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree, and Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP). IEEE 802.3x Flow Control provides direct connectivity for servers. Network maintenance features include Loopback Detection and Cable Diagnostics. Loopback Detection is used to detect loops created by a particular port and automatically disconnects the affected port or VLAN segment. Cable diagnostics are used by network administrators to quickly test the quality of metallic cables as well as to determine the type of cable defect.
The D-Link DGS-1510 is ideal for VoIP deployments because it supports AutoValue VLAN (ASV) and Auto Voice VLAN, which are best suited for VoIP deployment and monitoring. Auto Surveillance VLAN is a new technology for merging data and video transmissions via a single switch. This saves the hardware and infrastructure costs. The ASV also provides real-time video without endangering the smoothness of transmission by conventional network transmission, giving ASV priority over other packets.
The innovative D-Link Safeguard Engine protects the switch from overflow by unwanted traffic or virus-induced attacks. In addition, the switch supports access control lists (ACLs) and 802.1X port authentication via external RADIUS servers. The IP-MAC-port link allows administrators to track the location of IP addresses by linking the source IP address to the appropriate MAC address and source port. To further increase security, DHCP Server Screening is available to filter pirated DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorized IP address allocation.
Innovative technologies for energy saving do not limit operating performance and functionality. The DGS-1510 series includes a summary of D-Link Green 3.0 features that include power saving mode, intelligent cooling control, reduced heat emission and cable length detection. It includes the ability to schedule when to turn off LEDs and ports if they are not in use and when to switch them to hibernation mode. The switch also detects the length of the connected cables to automatically adjust the power consumption by saving energy on shorter cable connections. It also saves energy according to the state of the connection, which drastically reduces power consumption by automatically letting the ports without transmission.
