The game begins with the creation of two spy teams, where each is commanded by a chief agent who communicates the location of the other secret agents to his subordinates. However, agents can only be found under pseudonyms, so it is not easy to detect them. The playing area consists of cards that contain a total of 25 people, both agents of their own organization and enemy agents, random passers-by and a murderer who is better avoided. Team leaders take turns in hints, which are always expressed in just one word. The XXL Names game is won by the team that marks all its agents first.
