Perfect Optics

The lens uses a Canon UD element which suppresses the influence of secondary chromatic aberrations. The Super Spectra coating minimises ghosting and flare. This is particularly important for maintaining true colour balance and sharp images. For its production, the eco-friendly lead-free glass was used.

Upgraded motor

The USM Nanotechnology combines high speed for spontaneous shooting with smooth, quiet autofocus when recording videos. The near-silent motor doesn´t disturb video recording, so it records required sounds only.
