Canon's high quality stereo directional microphone delivers high-quality movie sound. Because of the compact Shotgun design, it is lightweight and easily mounted on the hot shoe. It connects into the 3.5 mm microphone socket of an extensive range of compatible EOS cameras.
The microphone with a 50 Hz to 16 kHz pick up range captures rich and realistic sound, such as the entire tonal range of a music performance - from the high frequencies of violins and flutes to the low frequencies of double basses and bass guitars. A sensitivity of -42 dB lets you record even the quietest sounds. Record clear, high quality sound without unwanted noise thanks to a shock mount that counteracts the vibrations from camera or lens operation. It features a bundled windshield cover which significantly reduces outdoor wind noise.
Add an impressive soundscape to your movie thanks to three modes of directional pick up. Effortlessly switch between 90° and 120° patterns for high quality stereo sound in different sized spaces or use shotgun (monaural) mode to clearly record subjects talking direct to camera without environmental interference.
*The microphone is not recommended for use with EOS-1D Mark IV and EOS 550D cameras because they are not equipped with a manual volume setting for the microphone input.
