B+W for diameter 49mm F-Pro702 grey 25% MRC

The B+W F-Pro 702 MRC is made of highly transparent Schott glass. The grey gradient is applied to one side of the filter using thin-layer technology, and the special coating process requires a special masking. The glass is mounted in an F-PRO brass filter ring to ensure smooth rotation without jamming. The B+W F-702 MRC filters only 25% light (max. 2 f-stops) in the darkest areas.
 
Gray transition filters are almost indispensable for landscape photography, where they balance the variance in the brightness of a scene. This problem arises often with digital sensors that do not have as much exposure flexibility as a film negative. MRC layers provide high light transmission (more than 99%) and prevent reflected light from returning to the optical system and creating a ghost picture. The last layer protects the filter from scratches and makes it easier to clean. The MRC surface antireflection treatment allows two or more  B+W transition filters to be used at the same time.
