This adapter will enable you to connect an older IDE drive or ATAPI drive via a SATA interface to a PC.
Due to its bi-directional design, you can also use it to connect a SATA device to an IDE interface on a PC.
The adapter consists of only hardware it does not require any drivers.
Designed for all SATA devices, 3.5" ATA 100/133 drives and 5.25" ATAPI CD/DVD drives.
All the electronics and adapter connectors are well protected by a durable plastic case.
The compact device has an integrated 40-pin IDE connector that is plugged directly into an IDE port of a PC, disk or drive.
Connect the yellow SATA connector to the SATA motherboard controller and connect the cable from the PC power supply to the 4-pin floppy connector.
You can similarly connect also all standard optical ATAPI CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, CD-RW, combo and DVD-RW drives.
For a connection in the opposite direction, connect the SATA drive with the black SATA connector of the adapter using the included SATA cable.
For proper configuration, you need to set the SATA drive to Master/Slave/Cable Select using two mini switches under the yellow SATA connector.
