Magnetic ski carriers are mounted on the roof of a car (must be made of metal) and are used for transporting skis and other winter equipment. They are fastened to the roof by means of magnets, although they can also be secured with a belt. They are easier to assemble than standard roof racks and do not require the purchase of cross beams. One disadvantage is the lower carrying capacity of this type of carrier.

Things to consider when choosing magnetic ski carriers
Capacity
- Most models can handle 2 pairs of downhill or cross-country skis.
- Most models cannot carry snowboards.
Useful features
- Locking system - secures the transported equipment against theft.
Inserting skis into the carrier
Open the ski rack, place the equipment in the rack, then close it again. To improve aerodynamic resistance, position the skis so that the tips are facing backwards. Before setting off, make sure that everything is firmly secured.
