The HORNET 3 is a hybrid solution that can transport both regular bikes and electric bikes. You can carry 2 e-bikes with plenty of space between them or 1 e-bike and 2 regular bikes or 3 regular bikes. Wide wheel rests allow fitting most common wheel sizes and tyres. The HORNET 3 is positioned high on the tow ball, well above deceleration thresholds and other obstacles such as steep ferry ramps. The patented tapered fit fits all tow balls, even bolted-on tow balls that sometimes don't meet neck length or ball diameter standards. HORNET 3 is supplied with a 7pin light system or 13pin folding lights depending on the market. A 7pin or 13pin adapter is not included, but can be purchased as an optional accessory. Tube bending, welding, corrosion protection, painting, component quality - it's exemplary. The whole carrier looks and feels like a product of its class. All necessary tools are included.

Easy folding
Tipping is easy and very well balanced even when fully loaded. HORNET 3 is positioned relatively high on the towball and the tilt function is optimised to keep the lights off the road, while the weight of the wheels helps to steer the carrier platform back to a horizontal position. However, the geometry does not allow the high vertical rear doors to be opened - for example, the VW Transporter T5 and T6.
Bicycle and electric bike transport
Wheel holders can accommodate most wheelbases (not tandem! ), including small children's bikes. Check the technical data below. Long rubber padded wheel straps hold tires up to 4″ wide - pull them tight and use the quick release to loosen them. The lockable frame brackets hold the bikes securely and can be attached to any part of the frame or seatpost. They can be locked with the same key as the towball mounting system.
Assembly:
Attach the wheel support frame to the base with 6 screws, attach the light bracket with 2 more screws, install the license plate, mount the carrier on the tow ball without tools.
Vehicle mounting:
When you first place HORNET 3 on the tow ball, the carrier supports itself - you can let go and it won't fall to the ground. Then you take its weight again, turn the tightening wheel until it is tight and lock it. BUZZRACK carriers meet the very strict XPR-18-904-4 standard and therefore include an anti-sway tensioner - this has an integrated handle and usually 2 or 3 turns are sufficient.
Bicycle mounting:
Simply place the bike on the wheel support. Adjust the position of the clamp by sliding it along the vertical tubular frame to achieve the ideal position relative to the wheel frame. Clamp the frame, secure the wheels with ratchet straps and lock the clamps.

Warning:
Not suitable for motorhomes, trailers or special vehicles. The maximum permissible load is also determined by the vertical load on the towing bracket; Before using any carrier on the towball, you must check that you do not exceed this value.
