The Asustor 3 Series effectively functions as a backup server and media player. With its powerful Intel Celeron processor, it will be able to handle the demands of a large amount of users and seamlessly play video in resolutions as high as 4K (Ultra HD) with multi-channel audio. It also supports both transcoding of videos in real-time and planned transcoding when the server is not overloaded. With transcoding you can play videos on your phone or tablet. Maximum Power or Automatic Backup

The Server comes with 4 bays for hard drives, which you can use via powerful Gigabit connectivity with speeds of up to 112MB/sec for reading and 110MB/sec for writing. After installing two disks, you can choose a union between them. Interlace mode (RAID 0) maximises performance for both drives. If safety of data is your priority, select double storage for the disks (RAID 1) so that in the event one of the disks fails, you still have usable data.

Data Safe

Now you never have to worry about confidential data in the event that the disks fall into the wrong hands or are stolen. The server provides a mechanism for encryption, so that data is protected as soon as its saved to the server. Encryption provides a read speed of 111MB/sec and a write speed of 79MB/sec, which is a reasonable compromise of speed for more security.
