Rubber

Rubber basketballs are generally cheaper and have a shorter shelf life than synthetic leather balls. They are suitable for beginners, for teaching in schools and outdoor play.

Synthetic Leather

Synthetic skin is the most commonly used material for making basketballs. It gained popularity thanks to its excellent price-performance ratio. Basketballs made from artificial leather have different finishes for outdoor and indoor use.

FIBA-approved

FIBA-approved balls conform to the following official standards of the International Basketball Federation:

• size 7 with a circumference of 749-780 mm
• feature a manufacturer's name and serial number
• made of genuine or synthetic leather
• contain no toxic substances or substances that cause allergic reactions
• contain no heavy metals
• bounce at least 1300 mm when falling from a height of 1800 mm onto a hard surface
• show no change of appearance or other properties when in an environment of 70° C for 7 days
• the manufacturer must be FIBA-certified

Basketball Size

• Size 1 (circumference 43 cm) – for small children, but also a fun toy for adults. Fits in a mini basketball hoop.
• Size 3 (circumference 56-58 cm) – for children aged 5-6 years, schools and recreational use.
• Size 5 (circumference 69-71 cm) – for children and youngsters up to 15 years.
• Size 6 (circumference from 72.4-73.7 cm) – for women.
• Size 7 (circumference 75-78 cm) – for men over 15 years.
