Modern technology

The ECC technology checks the integrity of the data stored in memory transparently and in real time. It can find and correct an error in one bit of data as well as detect an error in two bits. Some memory controllers can also repair errors of higher magnitudes in conjunction with the ECC. Most server motherboards require memory with ECC support. Thanks to parity control, the memory module achieves maximum control of transferred data. Auxiliary information is added to one-bit data (the so-called parity bit) which is later used to verify the authenticity of the transferred data.
